NJ Fish and Game Regulations Apply

Hi All,

Opening day has come and gone with smiling faces, strong river fun, and plenty of fish hooked and landed.   Thanks to those who joined us for the comradery.

REMINDER -  we are still operating under NJ Fish and Game regulations which includes a provision that the river is CLOSED on Tuesday’s for stocking until 5:00 p.m.

We HAVE had Game Warden social visits, so it would be best to stick to the state rules for Tuesdays.   http://www.state.nj.us/dep/fgw/trt_allocation17_dates.ht

REMINDER - we appreciate everyone checking in and out of the waters on your personal account at www.shannonsprivatewaters.com . Most are doing this.  If you are having technical difficulties let us know and we can set you up.

REMINDER - the fridge is full, the average time on the waters is 5 ½ hours (!) so come out, hang out and you don’t have to eat out.

See you on the waters.

Late Winter Fun

I had the pleasure of walking stream side today to "interview"  a few of the members.  Rich Fernandez was taking some nice fish at the 2nd guard rail with a nymph.  Chris Lido had a guide trip and put the novices on a #20 black midge.  They were having a great time.  Chris was met by the local game warden checking licenses so be aware though these are private waters state regulations still apply.  Tom Smith was landing a lot of big ones with a red San Juan worm.  He was a really happy guy with some productive time on the waters.   A hearty welcome to new member Doug Warden who enjoyed the afternoon sun .

The waters are closed from March 20 to April 8, 2017 at 8 a.m. because of trout stocking.  Enjoy the next few weeks of early spring and then Welcome Aboard on Opening Day April 8th.

Kids Fly Fishing at Black Oak

Kids Fishing was a great time !

September 18th Jim Holland of Shannon's Fly and Tackle along with Len Ruggia, senior guide took on the kids of Black Oak in a great afternoon of fly fishing instruction, fly tying and some fun fishing in the pond behind the 4th tee.  Particularly stunning was our findings of just how many fish are in the ponds !  THOUSANDS of bait fish ( we stocked 5,000 to start) Lots of sunfish and plenty of bass.  It seems all are breeding as there were lots of new little ones.  The kids were great and we'll do it again soon.
